Why they came
These return clients connected with us because they found a home in their ideal neighbourhood of Elbow Park!
They asked us to tour the home with them before making their offer and shortly after they became the proud owners of this lovely home.
While the home was beautiful, it wasn’t their dream. They had a very specific wish list to make them feel like they were in a luxury hotel at home.
Must haves:
- Drama.
- Tile floor everywhere.
- Showstopping staircase.
- Grand fireplaces.
- Updated kitchen, but keep the existing perimeter millwork.
- Dream closet x2.
- Hotel ensuite with steam shower.
- Gym.
- Hotel suite primary bedroom.
How We Helped
- We brought the drama with mirrors, bold wallpaper and designer lighting.
- Though it’s not often we spec this much tile in our Calgary climate, this was the client’s dream! To make that dream come true we specified a large-format porcelain tile with a marble look so they could have that warm-climate resort feeling.
- Instead of re-engineering the staircase, we added accent lighting and streamlined the railing and glazing.
- We supersized the main floor fireplace and created a reflective dramatic space with a dark slab and flanked mirrors.
- This primary suite takes up over half the upper level! We reframed the upper level to gain more space for this homeowner’s expansive wardrobe. The original millwork was repurposed in the basement to house seasonal clothing.
- The closet was the star of the show, so we didn’t increase the size of the ensuite bathroom, but we did add the drama with gorgeous tile, a steam shower, and a jetted tub.
- We rerouted the laundry room door and added multiple drying racks and lower millwork to make it more functional.
- Fitness goals will be met in the basement gym. We added soft gym flooring and mirrored the wall to ensure proper form.
- The primary bedroom is almost unrecognizable from its bare bones beginnings. We added a fireplace, artisan textured tile, and a built-in tufted bed complete with ceiling mirrors.
- The exterior of the home had a refresh as well – those photos to come.
